Do you have an opinion? Chances are Vanessa's measured it. In her experiences as a consultant, policy analyst and professor, Vanessa has honed the art of understanding and influencing public opinion. She particularly enjoys working with clients to help them identify what they most need to know and how make strategic use of this knowledge.
Vanessa earned a bachelors degree in Urban Studies and Political Science and a masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pittsburgh. Her community contributions have been profiled by Pittsburgh Magazine, when she was named one of Pittsburgh's "40 under 40." In her free time, Vanessa can usually be found exploring Seattle with her Labrador, Clark.
Background:
- Directed research and communications initiatives for a diverse portfolio of clients including: the US Department of Energy, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, American Airlines, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, PPG Industries, and GCI Group/Grey Advertising.
- Coordinated policy forums, directed community outreach, delivered presentations and published articles pertaining to workforce and economic development at the University of Pittsburgh Institute of Politics.
- Administered a small grants initiative focused on workforce development initiatives for a regional think tank.
- Taught research methods and economics courses at several Universities.
