John Taylor is a not so recent transplant to the northwest from Vermont, where he served as a senior policy advisor to Governor Howard Dean. John served as the Policy Director at the Downtown Seattle Association, where he led the charge against building a new elevated Alaskan Way Viaduct and for a dense and vital downtown Seattle. Prior to that he served as a policy advisor to the Seattle City Council and the Director of Seattle Public Utilities, and also worked on numerous political campaigns.

In his free time he volunteers for the Low Income Housing Institute, and is a sometime fly fishing enthusiast, a fact that is of little concern to the trout and salmon of Washington State.
