Bringing people together to discuss important policy issues is critical for our clients to address complex problems or projects. We are adept at holding meaningful community meetings, workshops and facilitating task forces and committees. We provide recruitment, work plans and timelines, facilitate meetings, capture input and prepare compelling presentations and reports.

  

Results

Recruited volunteers and facilitated a commission aimed at developing a vision for the city’s television station and website in order to increase public awareness, understanding and participation in government, community and cultural affairs.  Cocker Fennessy recruited members and staffed the committee, established timelines and monitored activities to meet deadlines; prepared meeting materials, such as agendas, background papers and reports; and wrote the commission’s final report. Recommendations were delivered to the Mayor and City Council and led to changes that were recognized through numerous national awards and public support.

Managed a citizen task force aimed at reviewing the current treatment of and future options for elephants living at the zoo.  Work included the recruitment and preparation of presenters/panelists, community outreach, media relations, and the preparation of all agendas and reference materials. Cocker Fennessy also developed a project website, provided government official briefings, responded to public comment, organized all meetings, drafted and finalized the panel’s recommendations. The work of the task force informed the zoo board’s decision to discontinue the exhibit.

The report’s recommendations about prioritizing customer service improvements will be used to inform the WSDOT Assistant Secretary for Tolling.
